Born and raised in Radstadt in the middle of the Alps, hard work, a perfect environment and the necessary amount of luck helped me to realize my childhood dreams. Today, several years later, I look back on a career, which is determined by various ups and downs. Besides setbacks and injuries, especially great victories and personal experiences provide me with the strength to keep on working hard on each and every day, for every upcoming race.

Skiing has always been a huge part of my life. Yet, I also enjoy the times off the slopes. No matter if it is during flights high above the clouds or while kitesurfing in the oceans, the desire to never stand still will always be present in my life. The needed support of friends and family is therefore essential.

Biography:

As an athlete you know how narrow the gap between health and illness can be, at least you believe it. Even if I already have experienced some accidents and injuries by myself, everything relativizes, if one hears of the tragic strokes of fate of those people who are suffering from cancer.

Through my friendship with Univ.-Prof. Dr. Raimund Margreiter - for many years chairman of the sponsoring association of the Tyrolean Cancer Research Institute - I learned from the work of the Tyrolean Cancer Research Institute and became aware of the fact, that the Tyrolean Cancer Research Institute is financed exclusively by donations of all kinds.

However, for me it was not enough to contribute just in form of a single donation. That’s why I thought it was time to give something back to those who are not so lucky in life. Therefore, I became involved with the Tyrolean Cancer Research Institute. Together with your support, the researchers and clinicians, we can ensure that new cancer therapy concepts can be developed and put into clinical use at the institute.
